Tremayne Price

Special Assistant to the Chancellor

Tremayne T. Price joined the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign as special assistant to the chancellor for strategic initiatives in the Office of the Chancellor in August 2018. Before moving to the Chancellor’s office, Tremayne served as visiting special projects liaison to the president at the University of Illinois System where he focused organizational planning including coordinating the System administrative realignment process. He also supported the development of The Public’s University: Optimizing Impact for the Public Good, the U of I System’s strategic framework.

Tremayne holds a master’s in educational administration and a bachelor’s in public policy and management, both from the University at Albany, and is currently working on his doctorate in public administration at the University of Illinois Springfield. Prior to moving to Illinois, he worked at the Research Foundation for SUNY as a presidential graduate fellow and project coordinator. He also previously served on the SUNY Board of Trustees and as president of the state-wide Student Assembly, representing SUNY’s over 400,000 students.

In Tremayne’s current role, he serves as key staff to the chancellor at Illinois. Major projects have included the development of the Illinois Scholars summer bride program, diversity initiatives including the establishment of the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, and community engagement efforts including managing the annual Campus Charitable Fund Drive, the university-wide workplace giving campaign, and the Community and Campus Day of Service.
