Jim Bradley is the Associate Vice President of Enterprise at Sam Houston State University. Previously, Jim led Information Technology Services at Trinity University in San Antonio and serves on the Executive Leadership Team. He is married and has two accomplished daughters and a beautiful granddaughter.
He earned his Doctor of Jurisprudence from South Texas College of Law Houston and has been a member of the State Bar of Texas since 1998. Jim holds a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Management Information Systems from the University of St. Thomas in Houston where he was a member of Delta Mu Delta honor society. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree in History from the University of Houston.
Jim is a 2013 Leading Change Institute Fellow and serves on the boards of the Lonestar Education and Research Network, the Chronicle’s Leadership Board of CIOs, the University of Houston’s Digital Media Program Advisory Board, and the Center for Higher Education CIO Studies. He is a member of the Forbes Technology Council.
Prior to joining Trinity, Jim was the Vice President for Information Technology and Chief Information Officer at the University of Texas at Arlington, served as Assistant Vice President for Information Technology and Academic Computing at Tulane University where he was responsible for research and instructional technology, internal and external partnerships and traditional technical support across multiple Tulane campuses.
Jim served in multiple leadership roles in the University Information Technology division at the University of Houston for 24 years including leading units responsible for Technology Support Services, Web Technologies, Customer Services and communications as well as staff roles for the CIO. He also served as an adjunct professor teaching technology, database and Web topics. He began working in information technology in higher education in 1983 as a student at the UH Computing Center. He has also worked for HEB and Bechtel in corporate roles.
Jim has served on numerous boards and university committees and special assignments as well as volunteer and community service activities. He has also been an active contributor to Educause and Internet2 including the “Voice in the Clouds” NET+ initiative.
