The AGB Institute for Leadership & Governance offers exceptional training, resources, and mentorship to select participants who aspire to higher education presidencies. To be considered for acceptance into the Class of 2026-2027, please submit applications below.
Selection Criteria
Fellows will be selected by a committee composed of Institute faculty, former Presidents and Chancellors, and representatives of AGB and AGB Search. Selection criteria includes:
- Professional experience in higher education or a related field, with increasing levels of responsibility
- Current/recent experience as a Provost/CAO, Dean, C-level administrator, or similar role preferred
- Demonstrated achievements with initiatives or projects within administrative areas of responsibility
- Interest in and commitment to addressing current issues and challenges in higher education leadership and governance
Institute Fee: $10,000
The Institute program begins in July and concludes in January. The program includes:
- Virtual Cohort networking session and faculty meet and greet
- Two-day Opening Symposium in Washington, D.C. (September)
- Five interactive online workshops conducted by Institute leadership
- On-campus shadow experience with a current institution President
- One-on-one mentorship sessions with Institute leadership
- Networking with and learning from renowned industry leaders
- Two-day Closing Symposium in Chicago (January)
- All course materials
Participants are responsible for the costs of travel and accommodations for the in-person symposia.
