Dr.  Reginald Wilburn
Associate Dean, College of Liberal Arts
University of New Hampshire

Reginald A. Wilburn is an Associate Dean for Academic Affairs in the College of Liberal Arts at the University of New Hampshire.  He served in the United States Marine Corps for 7 1/2 years before pursing undergraduate and graduate studies.  He takes immense pride in serving and supporting students to academic success in addition to strengthening the development, enrichment, and management of the College curriculum and numerous programming initiatives.  Presently, he leads a university-wide retention effort targeting sophomore students.  He also has expanded his focus to the developing and managing of an array of cross-college academic programs that are designed to increase enrollments for entrepreneurial students who are eager to change the world through their specializations in the liberal arts.  His leadership in support of faculty assists his faculty colleagues in effectively handling various student crises and negotiating challenges to strong classroom management.  Reginald identifies integrity, vision, and a disposition of tempered assertiveness as critical to his leadership style. He is the author of Preaching the Gospel of Black Revolt:  Appropriating Milton in Early African American Literature (Duquesne University Press 2014).  His current monograph project investigates continued intertextual samplings of John Milton in Early 20th-century African American literature relative to themes of racial passing and miscegenation.
